Friday, March 07, 2014

Hello everyone!

As you guys can see by the title, today I'll be talking about my first time. Woah, hang on... I know the title sounds very very raunchy, I don't know what you have in mind when you first see this title but I assure that this topic I'll be talking about is very safe for all ages. Haha. Throw away all your dirty thoughts, sorry to dissapoint anyone out there with such thoughts but today I'll be talking about my first experience in making a passport!
Haha yes, boring much. Anyways, I just want to share this experience because..  well, my blog is also a personal blog and I believe out there in this world , there are people like me who have never receive the chance to leave their country ever for travelling nor have a passport at all.

So, rewind the time back to Monday , 3rd of March late night, I was given this huge news that our family will be going to Medan,Indonesia and since we never had such a chance to travel overseas before it was a very exciting news. You can also say that to travel overseas have been a dream of mine, therefore you can imagine how much joy I must have felt to hear this. At first , when my parents said we'll be making our passport the next day (Tuesday) , I did not believe. Because, we always have such jokes once in awhile. But this time it was real.

I spent my time playing games after hearing the news throughout the night, I didn't sleep the whole night! Haha. Maybe I was excited? Don't quite know the reason, but I had a small power nap at around 5am till 6am. Anyways, on Tuesday, 4th March, I woke up got ready and I thank god for my hair being perfectly fine because ya know, you don't  get any chance to retake your passport picture. So, after that, we dropped by citta mall to have our breakfast at McD. Okay, this is where a little bit of complications start.

It was a rainy day, a very heavy rain pour. I repeat VERY HEAVY.  The night before, we planned to leave at 6:30am for breakfast so that we can go to the emigration early. Because, the emigration is always packed with humans . Oh by the way, we went to the Kelana Jaya branch as it's the nearest. So, continue the story... Our planning was definitely a big fail, we went breakfast around 7:30am or 8am. Once we leave the house, we can see long line of cars near the highway . Thought it would die down after breakfast but it did not ! Malaysia will always have jam when it's raining. #fact! Anyways, so in between breakfast, my dad realize that he forgot to bring his wallet and old passport -.- . Way to go right? So he had to turn back and get his stuffs . That's fine, no big deal.

After having breakfast, we leave to Kelana Jaya and we were caught up in jam for almost an hour! Just because of the rain. By the time we reached there, it was around 9am or 10am . The whole emigration was filled with humans, had to squeeze in a little bit just to reach to the information counter. Since it's been a long time my parents have ever renewed their passports and me and my younger brother have never made one. Decided to ask the staff at info counter on how to apply. This is where the poop happens. Apparently, for kids (below 18) , we need to have our birth cert and ic NOT just IC but also the birth cert. Had to go all the way back home to collect the birth certs. And the traffic jam is definitely not helping. But luckily it died down a little bit. Oh! And also, we have to have our IC's and Birth Certs photocopied. More work to do! Well, that's the procedure.

Fast forward, after all the photocopies and everything, we head back to the emigrations. Guess what? MORE HUMANS at such a cramp place T.T after getting everything all checked by the staff , we got our number. To our suprise we got number 1841-1844 (there's 4 of us) and the number that's showing up was only 1100 something D: do u see that we had to go through so many more people! Then we decided to get a drink at the nearby mamak. Waited for around 3 hours plus and our number still wasn't showing up.

Since my mum had to do other personal stuff, we decided to take the risk and just leave for awhile to settle her things. When we came back it was around 1pm. Lunchtime. The amount of humans is still a lot. If you think that we had lost our number , well you are wrong. Our number was still hundreds away from the current one. We refuse to wait any longer , so we went for a lunch . It was a really good decision because after lunch when we reach back to the emigration, our number still did not show up at all. Had to wait again. The waiting was horrible until at last, we got to do our passport.

Like seriously thank god, we didn't have to wait till the next day because the emigration closes at around 5pm. Any longer and we might miss our chance! After the whole long day I finally got my passport! And despite all the hardwork of trying to look "good" in the passport picture, lol, I still failed. We had to show our ears in our pictures and we can't smile with our teeth showing. I looked like a monkey . Horrible. But then, who cares, atleast I got a passport to travel. So glad ! Posted a picture on Instagram cause I was so happy.

Now, all I am waiting for is to set flight and fly across to indonesia on Wednesday night! I hope you guys can give me some advices on traveling overseas or more about what I should know about boarding the plane. Would be happy to get some feedbacks from all of you! Also, a huge advice for anyone who plans to make passport or renew them, seriously plan your day ahead and bring all your docs. That includes your ic for an adult, old passport (if you are renewing) and an ic+birth cert for a child under 18 years old. Don't forget to photocopy them too! Once you are prepared you can just get a form from the info counter and fill it up. Definitely will save some time for that, thank me later . Hehe.

That's all for today and here's a happy picture of me ! Woohoooo~
See you guys on my next post and also don't miss out on my trip to Indonesia!
